Silly or Stupid Travel Health Insurance
One of the sillier things said about travel health insurance is that you can take out a policy after an accident’s happened abroad. This is absolutely not true, of course. You cannot take out a policy, after something’s happened, anymore than you can place a bet on a game that’s already happened. No bookie is going to take the bet, and no insurer’s going to sell you a policy on the past. That’s absolutely silly, and actually stupid. It’s the very idea of insurance, the idea that you can’t tell what’s going to happen, but you know that there’s some sort of financial risk.
